Windows 8 to Hit the Shelves in 2012, Says Microsoft

Microsoft Netherlands spread the word about Microsoft Windows 8’s release time. In a blog post on Microsoft’s Dutch website, Microsoft says that Windows 8 will is about two years away from hitting the store shelves. Also, Microsoft’s Windows 8 should be riskiest product, CEO of Microsoft says in an interview.

Furthermore, Microsoft is of course the next version of Windows. But it will take about two years before “Windows 8” on the market.

If you think about it, two years is very far, so Microsoft must be planning to include some impressive features in their new version of Windows to stay competitive. Earlier in June, a slide deck on Windows 8 leaked suggesting that it should include an App Store for Windows, improved startup and sleep times and other things. [via CNET]
