Something is amiss in Bird Land it seems the evil green pigs have stolen the birds eggs and their none to happy about it. The birds become enraged hence the name Angry Birds and they plan on taking out each and every pig that stands in their way. There is no surrender, their is no retreat there are just Angry Birds.
Angry Birds is another physics based game where you are are challenged with destroying all the pigs on each level to advance to the next. Your scored on your creative ability to destroy the pigs using the fewest birds as possible. This is done by launching the birds at either the buildings structure or the pigs themselves in attempts to end their lives.
Some strategy is involved as their are multiple types of birds that can alter the outcome of each battle. Some birds are heavier and work best at taking out walls while others are smaller but can separate into multiple bombers, or speeding missiles while in flight to deal more damage to objects in hope to tip the apple cart and score a kill. Bonus points are award for unused birds.
As you progress throughout the game the enemies defensive shelter and protective gear become more and more challenging. Luckily for you your arsenal of tactics grows as well. New abilities are documented for you prior to each mission in simple yet effective diagrams.
The games vibrant and animated graphics add to the overall enjoyment of this title. The now standard multi-stared rating system for completing levels does add some additional incentive to repeat levels tying to get the maximum 3 stars per level. However the lack of any online leaderboard, or level editor does knock it down some on our review score.
The Game consists of 3 worlds each consisting of 20 levels culminating with a quasi “Boss” level. Controls are handled with a simple touch and pull of the launcher. while additional commands can be used by touching the center of the screen during flight to active special moves if available.
One neat aspect of the game many people will even fail to utilize is the fact that once you launch your bird you can immediately scroll back to the launcher and fire off additional birds without having to wait for the first one to finish. Using this strategy can help you can help when walls are wobbly but wont seem to fall down. hitting them with another bird before they stop shaking could be the final nail in the coffin.
Angry Birds is easily one of the better physics based “Castle” crasher games on the iPhone and iTouch devices and an easy recommendation for veteran and first time gamers of the genre. it’s a fun physic based game. the additional of a leader board and online editor could easily make this a AAA must have addition to your library.
These birds are tough and nothings going to stop them from getting their eggs back and punishing those green pigs
Each bird hasa different ability the BLUEBIRD can tripicate himself the REDBIRD is just a bird you can shoot at the pigs forts the YELLOWBIRD can increase his speed the WHITEBIRD drops eggs with a nitro yolk the BLACKBIRD is like a suicide bomber exploding over the pig forts and their going to make those pig pay for their theift of their eggs
Another nice and comprehensive review Daniel!
I watched the video and must say I liked the level with the train. Most original. In a lot of ways this game reminds me of the Crazy Penguins game. But it looks to be a little less repetative in the level design. I have all 3 of those games (I’m still trying to get a perfect score on all the levels) so this one’s a “no-brainer” for me. I’m buying as I type!
