Now, i wanted to protect also my offline laptop for possible threats in the future (its better to be safe than sorry)…
The question is:
How can i update my MalwareBytes’ Anti-Malware when i don’t have an internet connection to my PC/Laptop?
The answer is:
You’ll still need a PC/laptop that is connected to internet and download mbam-rules and run that on a pc/laptop without an internet connection via USB/Flash Drive to update your MalwareBytes’ Anti-Malware…
NOTE: This manual update will always be way behind in version level compared to updates from within the program (Online updating)…
You can also update it by using this method (recommended):
Manually copy the database from a working computer connected to internet and updated it, using a flash drive or CD onto the infected PC.
Database file is stored in the following locations.
- Windows XP and 2000
- C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMalwarebytesMalwarebytes’ Anti-Malwarerules.ref
- Windows Vista and Windows 7:
- C:ProgramDataMalwarebytesMalwarebytes’ Anti-Malwarerules.ref
That’s it! Hope this helps you…
