If you are using the free version you can try Schedule Updates with SMBAM Tool for Windows or you can do an OFF-Line Definition Update.
I havent found a way for that cause I dont use password for the mbam.

how can we reset malwarebyte’s anti-malware pro password.. recently i changed it and forgot.. and now it is not working fully . i tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the password remain there.. any idea ho do i rid of the password. my email id india.kingdon@gmail.com
